Rachel Nhan is a fashion designer based in New York City. Her work incorporates modern fabrication methods with traditional couture techniques.
Rachel's designs utilize 3D Printing to create wearable art that explores the possibilities of technology in apparel manufacturing. She blends her experience in 3D programs such as Autodesk Maya and Rhino with her knowledge of classical draping, hand sewing, and patternmaking. Rachel's 3D printed designs have been exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Dusseldorf, and Shanghai.
Rachel's background in 3D animation and computer programming stems from her education at Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Visualization in 2011. Afterwards she relocated to NYC to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and received her womenswear Fashion Design certification in 2014. Upon graduation, Rachel has worked as a costume designer for the WWE as well as an apparel graphics artist for brands like Kate Spade and Aeropostale. She currently works as a surface designer at Victoria's Secret, creating seasonal concepts and providing artwork direction.
